I perceive a gulf of difference between conscious thought and unconscious instinct.

Thoughts are not simulated words. You can churn those out by instinct. Thoughts are ideas and abstractions: The knowledge that you are Deistic Providence and that you are talking to Zen is a thought. Your idea conscious thought and unconscious instinct themselves are abstract ideas and therefore the former. The words that you speak in your head overtop that is probably more instinct than anything else. A simulation of your ability to speak, which is filtered by consciousness.
3:20 AM
The distinction though to me, is mostly that conscious thought and instinct have different effects on the mind. You cannot "think" your way into hypnosis, but you can just be hypnotized at will. Thoughts are almost removed from control of the body. They're for modelling ideas rather than directing anything. And when they contradict the unconscious they usually lose that fight too.

I can direct complexes by utilising newer info and intuition like the shaping of a diamond. I ultimately feel like a plexi of neurons making up this qualia that is subject to thoughts and/or emotions. (edited)

Literally the raw thought of'any1 here' and I get "I got ya" I call that progress
Avatar
How new are you? It sounds like if you're fairly new you're doing it correctly if you're getting vocality so soon. I would say to remind yourself that what you're doing is a mindset rather than something that is learned. Just acceptance and relaxation, really. (edited)
3:36 AM
The skills are things like visualization, but none of that stuff really impacts whether you're doing it right or not. Tulpamancy, I think, is a thing you do right or wrong. And you get results if you do it right - Right now.

Thank you.

Some of you who have mastered switching and likely play a big role in managing your system may have this awkward side problem- talking to your host is hard. You and your host want to talk more, but theres a barrier you dont fully understand. Luckily, there is a simple solution: A helpful mindset ...

I'm in the mood to talk about progress about the replacement system for the GAT, but I don't have tons to offer yet. There are a lot of things I'm going back and forth on, I don't have any finished drafts for anything, and at best I have a rough draft for a flowchart I don't know if I told anyone I want to call it the UpVote/Draft guide system. I don't know what else to call it, those two aspects are central ideas to the new system (edited)

when I left there were so many guides around, and none of them felt like they did much for me. I ended up saying 'screw this, Imma invent every bit of the cart myself!'
Despite reading quite a few guides ourselves we are poorly read on creation guides. My host never used them, he dived right into narration and vocality guides

There are some interesting concepts in creation guides. Generally though you're more likely to get an overview of other concepts and maybe example excersises? I feel like that's a creation guide thing, unless it's just a tulpa/Luigi thing

Hi everyone, may I ask that could guides be translated into Chinese with link to the original guides? Currently, there are many guides on China's official website that did this without direct permission from the guide's author. If we did some wrong, plz tell us, we'll delete it. (edited)

It's best to ask the author, but if they don't respond to you asking then I'd just go ahead given that you're not trying to sell it and it was never a paid work. Take it down if it's requested and that's all you can do. (edited)

Most if not all of the guide was plagiarized. I made a Google Doc where I outline all of the plagiarized content and cite the original guide content: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EiNJSJcJ933OsxdIYO8YeC9QhTIdR-8PkKcmkFWYXa4/edit?usp=sharing

like I'm not some advanced tulpamancer who reads everything in the community (though I would like to get better) and even I can easily tell those are the same words

They seem to think it's an acceptable thing to do, to combine other people's guides and submit it. They say at the start that it's taken from other guides. Never seen anyone do that before
Avatar
A long kiss goodnight 7/27/2022 5:04 PM
I remember one other person who also did that with Apollo's guide, but they actually put some effort into it and had their own work mixed in On the forums, they say it's their guide and only mention that caveat on their Google Doc. Plus, saying they wrote "some of it" is misleading at best and lying at worst (edited)

This is something I wanted to do for awhile, so I'll go ahead and kick it off- every now and then I want to talk about random guides that happen to be floating around on Tulpa.info. I found two relatively short Tips & Tricks guides, so I'll go ahead and start with these: "Meditation" by Hoenir https://community.tulpa.info/topic/8319-meditation/ "Tip For Those Stuggling to Visualize" by WhiteRussian https://community.tulpa.info/topic/682-tip-for-those-stuggling-to-visualize/ "Meditation" is about Hoenir's advice on how to meditate. They focus on describing what position you need to be in. After that, they explain being in a proper relaxed position is the key to forgetting your physical surroundings, letting go of stray thoughts, and going back to focusing on your tulpa. "Tip For Those Stuggling to Visualize" suggests you use some kind of cover over your eyes like your arm to visualize more easily.
9:27 PM
=== The first guide I think is pretty good writing wise. Looking at some of the former GAT criticism I agree that it would help if it explained why visualization would improve, especially since it would be very easy to say "visualization improves with focus" and leave it at that. I can tell reading it that there is a thesis and a focus on that thesis thoughout the guide, probably thanks to the revision Hoenir did, but I get the sense somehow it was an accident? There are weird segments that feel a bit off-topic, out of place, or in somewhat the wrong order. I personally don't know tons about meditation, I don't think I can speak to how effective this guide is. When we meditate we consider that a completely different effort than tulpa forcing. I know that focus will improve your visualization and forcing sessions in general, so I can see this guide being helpful for others.

A long kiss goodnight 8/5/2022 9:41 PM
=== Reading this guide over and over again I couldn't figure out if it was a visualization guide or an imposition guide. I know you can see colors and stuff on the back of your eyelids, but these are hallucinations caused by the Ganzfeld effect and in my opinion more helpful for practicing imposition than visualization. However, I also know you can "stamp" a mental image onto these hallucinations so I could see how that could help? The old GAT seems to have disapproved it because it was a duplicate, without linking or mentioning exactly what guide it actually was. Thanks old GAT. Ah, I see why- because Thunderclap wrote it ("Blindfold Trick") and he published it after WhiteRussian wrote his guide: https://community.tulpa.info/topic/5841-blindfold-trick/ Welp, I have to admit this guide is better. However, I am still equally confused if this is visualization and imposition- wait...
[After he lists side effects like headaches and nausea] The usual orange juice/cold showers remedy should clear these up.
Wait people took the orange juice memes seriously back then? Huh
Avatar
A long kiss goodnight 8/5/2022 9:52 PM
=== Well, there you go. Three-ish guides then. I think this raises an interesting question about duplicate guides- it can be easy to dismiss a guide submission that doesn't add anything new to the table, but what happens if the newer guide is an improvement off of an idea somebody else already published? I wonder if a possible solution is to simply leave both there. It's possible ThunderClap didn't read that guide before writing his, but there's a good chance he did, especially since there was less guide content at the time and he's a GAT member and guide author, I have higher expectations for him. Regardless, for my new idea of a guide system, I think it would be silly to put WhiteRussian's tip in drafts when he came up with it first. And who knows, maybe some people simply need less words instead of more.... dang it that raises another question- I don't want to knock out "just do it" guides for being "just do it" guides, but the duplicate guide policy might put those guides at a disadvantage. If you're saying "just do it", you might be saying something another guide spells out but longer. I wonder if I can make an exception for "just do it" guides or perhaps give them their own section- actually, that might be a good idea. I think it also raises the question if "common knowledge" should be published. I think what one person finds as common knowledge may not be common knowledge to someone else. I don't think it was "common knowledge" for WhiteRussian to cover his eyes, why assume it would be for others?

The GAT is the Guide Approval Team. At some point in 2012 or 2013, it was decided there should be a group of people in charge of filtering out "good" guides from "bad" guides. Around 2018, Waffles admitted the GAT quietly died and in 2019 there was a second attempt at bringing back the GAT. It fizzled out before 2020, but it was somewhat still standing until the new year in 2021. After releasing a feedback survey and its results, the GAT closed its doors.
